Lewis Carroll’s “Through the Looking-Glass” invites you into a fantastical world where reality and fantasy intertwine. As Alice navigates Wonderland, mirrors and self-reflection become integral to her transformative journey.
The looking-glass serves not only as a portal but also as a metaphor for exploring identity, and the interplay between imagination and reality.
I focussed on the typography design especially with the quotes spread in the book which you can only read in mirror. These quotes reveal/highlight te deeper layers of the story and corresponds with themes as growth, imagination en self-reflection. It invites the reader to literally play with the mirror and ‘reflect’ the texts by holding and folding the flexible mirror.
As you go through the journey with Alice, let the mirror be your guide through the book to highlight the deeper meaning of the story where logic dances with paradox, and quotes unfolds in the reflections.
